Discover Korea’s 맛·멋·쉼: 2026 K-Culture Program Invites Foreign Influencers to Taste, Style, and Rest

Our investigation found that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the International Broadcasting Exchange Foundation, has launched the ‘2026 맛·멋·쉼 오감만족 K-컬처’ project. This initiative invites about 120 foreign content creators living in Korea to immerse themselves in the country’s taste, style, and rest—known collectively as 맛·멋·쉼—and turn those experiences into SNS content for a global audience.
What Is the 맛·멋·쉼 Experience?
The program runs from April to November and consists of six separate 2-night, 3-day trips. Each round welcomes 20 participants, giving them a chance to explore a different region while creating authentic online content.

The journey begins on April 17 in Jeonju, where creators make their own bibimbap and stroll through Gyeonggijeon and the Hanok Village. In May, the group heads to Pocheon to enjoy outdoor activities along the Hantangang River and at Mt. Myeongseong, followed by a Korean-style camping experience. Later that month, they travel to Boeun for a temple stay at Beopjusa, offering a moment to reflect and connect with Korean Buddhist culture.
As the year progresses, the schedule highlights regional specialties: September brings a visit to Hahoe Village in Andong and Yeongju, where participants can try the traditional Seonyujulbulnor play. October moves to the west coast, with sea‑fishing and makgeolli making in Dangjin and Seosan. The final leg in November takes the creators to the DMZ and the Unification Observatory in Goseong and Sokcho, prompting reflection on the peninsula’s history and peace.
Beyond the field trips, Arirang TV will produce two special entertainment programs featuring the foreign participants, set to air in the second half of 2026. The Thai public broadcaster MCOT is also joining the effort, with its production team attending the experiences to create a local program for Thai viewers. Discussions with additional overseas broadcasters are underway to expand the reach of this K‑culture showcase.
A ministry official shared the hope that through this project, people worldwide will look beyond K‑pop and K‑drama to discover Korea’s diverse regional charm and hidden beauty. The vivid stories from the foreign creators, combined with international media collaboration, aim to deliver the unique appeal of K‑culture effectively.
