A friendly guide to Seoul craft beer, from the 2026 Korea International Beer Expo and Drink Seoul at COEX to neighborhood festivals and Seongsu craft beer context.

Seoul craft beer is best understood as both a citywide scene and a set of very specific places, events, and neighborhoods. In 2026, the clearest source-backed snapshot comes from the Korea International Beer Expo and Drink Seoul at COEX, alongside local Seoul festivals and the longer-running Seongsu craft beer story connected to Amazing Brewing Company.

The available records do not support a single, complete map of every brewery or taproom in Seoul. What they do show is a market with large professional exhibitions, borough-level beer festivals, imported and domestic beer themes, and a Seongsu landmark that helped bring brewpub culture closer to everyday drinkers.

Seoul Craft Beer Takes the Big Stage at COEX

The most concrete 2026 marker for Seoul craft beer was the Korea International Beer Expo and Drink Seoul, held from April 16 to 18, 2026, at COEX Hall C. COEX listed the event under the combined title Korea International Beer Expo & Drink Seoul, with beer, wine, traditional Korean liquor, and food among the exhibition categories, and GMEG named as organizer and host.1

That matters because the event frames craft beer not only as a bar or restaurant experience, but as part of a broader drinks industry. For anyone following Seoul’s beer culture, COEX gives a useful lens: breweries, ingredient suppliers, food partners, and beverage brands meet in one professional setting rather than appearing only through nightlife or festival coverage.

The scale reported around the 2026 event also signals how visible the sector has become. Newsis described the April 16-18 fair at COEX as Korea’s largest beer-specialized exhibition, with companies from 10 countries and 250 participating firms.2 BeLocal reported that GMEG operated the 8th Korea International Beer Expo and Drink Seoul over the same dates, describing a setup expanded by 14% from the previous year to 280 companies and 360 booths.3

Those figures differ slightly by report, so it is safest to read them as source-specific descriptions rather than one merged total. Still, both point in the same direction: Seoul’s beer scene is not a niche side note. It has enough pull to support a sizable industry event at one of the city’s major exhibition venues.

One especially interesting angle from the 2026 fair is the role of domestic ingredients. Gunsan City joined the Seoul COEX beer expo to promote products based on Gunsan malt, presenting the competitiveness of K-craft beer through Korean-grown raw materials.2 For readers who think of craft beer mainly in terms of taprooms, this is a helpful reminder that the scene also depends on agricultural supply, brewing inputs, and regional branding.

From Seongsu Craft Beer to Neighborhood Festivals

Seongsu craft beer has a particular place in this wider Seoul story because of Amazing Brewing Company’s Seongsu branch. Newsis reported that Amazing Brewing Company was in corporate rehabilitation proceedings, with the deadline for submitting its rehabilitation plan extended to January 14, 2026. In the same report, the company’s Seongsu location, opened in 2016, was described as an open brewpub with on-site brewing facilities and as a space credited with contributing to the popularization of domestic craft beer.4

That is a narrow but meaningful fact. It does not tell us the full current operating picture of every Seongsu beer venue, and it should not be stretched into a claim that Seongsu alone defines Seoul beer culture. But it does show why Seongsu is often discussed when people talk about craft beer in Seoul: the neighborhood is tied to a brewpub model where visitors could see brewing as part of the drinking space, not just order a finished product.

At the same time, the Seoul craft beer story is not limited to Seongsu. In 2025, Nowon District announced the Nowon Craft Beer Festival for August 29 to 31 at Hwarangdae Railroad Park. Yonhap reported that the event included a world theme zone, beer from seven countries, food, a water playground, a forest playground, and a camping beer zone.5 That mix suggests a festival format aimed at casual visitors as much as dedicated beer fans.

Dongdaemun District also had its own beer event in 2025. The Seoul Culture Portal listed the Dongdaemun-gu Beer Festival, titled “Brew Brew Beer Factory,” as taking place from August 29 to 30, 2025, at Jangan 1 Waterside Park. Its official introduction included craft beer sales from leading domestic breweries, food sales, photo zones, hands-on programs, and fusion Korean traditional music and jazz performances.6

Together, these records show a citywide pattern: Seoul craft beer appears in trade halls, neighborhood parks, borough festivals, and brewery-centered districts. If you are trying to understand the scene, it helps to separate three layers. COEX shows the professional and industry side. Local festivals show how beer is packaged as public culture and leisure. Seongsu offers one documented example of a neighborhood brewpub space that helped make craft beer more familiar to Korean drinkers.

What This Means for Beer-Curious Visitors

If you are looking at Seoul through a craft beer lens, the available facts point to variety rather than one single center. A visitor interested in industry trends would watch for large events like Korea International Beer Expo and Drink Seoul. Someone looking for relaxed public programming might pay attention to district festivals such as Nowon or Dongdaemun, especially because those events paired beer with food, performances, and family-friendly spaces in 2025.56

For Seongsu, the source-backed takeaway is more historical and cultural: Amazing Brewing Company’s Seongsu branch opened in 2016 with on-site brewing facilities and an open brewpub structure, and it has been described as contributing to the mainstreaming of Korean craft beer.4 That makes Seongsu a relevant keyword in the Seoul craft beer conversation, even when the broader 2026 picture is being shaped by large exhibitions and citywide events.

A practical guide to Seongsu on-site entry popups, covering wait times, QR registration, consumer-rights checks, and source-backed July 2026 popup examples.

Seongsu on-site entry popups are popular because they let visitors walk into branded spaces, test products, join short programs, and buy limited items without treating the visit like a standard store trip. For anyone planning a Seongsu Popup Tour, the most important point is practical: on-site entry can still involve QR registration, numbered waiting systems, long queues, limited stock, and unclear refund or privacy notices.

The available July 2026 source material points to a busy popup district where the visit experience depends less on the brand name and more on how each venue manages entry. Seoul’s Civil Economy Safety Center reported findings from a consumer perception survey of 1,000 popup-store users and an on-site investigation of 24 popups in Seongsu-dong and The Hyundai Seoul; all 24 investigated sites lacked proper consent for personal information collection, and reported consumer problems included product shortages and incorrect waiting-time guidance.1

How Seongsu On-Site Entry Popups Work

A Seongsu popup visit may begin before the actual entrance line. At a Pokemon 30th anniversary popup observed in Seongsu-dong on May 12, 2026, Sisa Journal reported that even on a weekday afternoon, entry could take up to 2 hours and 30 minutes. The report described a line forming before visitors could even receive the waiting number used for an entry call, creating what was effectively a “line for the waiting line.”2

That detail matters for visitors because “on-site entry” does not always mean immediate entry. It can mean arriving at the site, registering through a QR process or waiting-number system, and then waiting until the venue calls the next group. A field staff member at the Pokemon site was quoted as saying, “After registration, entry takes at least two hours and can stretch to two and a half hours.”2

Nearby demand was not limited to one brand. The same report said a nearby Metamon popup also had a QR registration line and advised visitors of roughly 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes of entry waiting.2 For a visitor, this means a multi-stop Seongsu plan should be built around flexible timing rather than a tight sequence of exact arrival and exit slots.

The most practical approach is to decide which popup is the priority before arriving. If a venue uses QR registration or numbered calls, complete that step first, then use the waiting time for nearby stops only if the system allows you to return without losing your place. The sources do not provide a universal Seongsu-wide rule for re-entry, missed calls, or late returns, so those details should be checked at each popup entrance.

July 2026 Popup Examples and What They Mean for Visitors

Several source-backed Seongsu popups show why on-site entry has become a planning issue rather than a simple walk-in choice. Nongshim opened ‘Shin Ramyun Bunsik’ on June 16, 2026 at Stage X Seongsu 52 in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, to mark the 40th anniversary of Shin Ramyun, with operations planned through the end of November 2026. The Seongsu branch is described as the first domestic Shin Ramyun brand experience space after locations in Peru, Vietnam, Japan, and the United States, and it occupies about 120 pyeong across the first and second floors.3

For visitors, the appeal is not just display viewing. The space includes a fresh-made ramyun sales zone, custom goods, a make-your-own ramyun experience, and Seongsu-exclusive menu items.3 A Nongshim representative said the company aimed to communicate Shin Ramyun’s brand value to “young generations and foreign tourists visiting Seongsu-dong,” which also explains why demand may include both local visitors and international travelers.3

That international demand is not only theoretical. Hankyung reported on July 10, 2026 that foreign tourists gathered at Nongshim’s Shin Ramyun Bunsik popup on Yeonmujang-gil in Seongsu-dong on the evening of July 9, 2026. Sweetspot data cited in the report said cumulative foreign on-site waiting cases exceeded 12,000 over 15 months of tracking, and that one in seven waiting cases involved a foreign visitor.4

Other July popups show how short operating windows can raise urgency. M·A·C operated a special popup at Olive Young N Seongsu from July 2 to July 14, 2026 for the launch of ‘NEW Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick,’ which came in 35 shades including ‘See Sheer’ and ‘Alone Time.’ The popup was structured around testing the new product and participating in programs, but that event had already ended by July 19, 2026.5

NH NongHyup Bank’s ‘NH Dream Bank’ popup also finished before July 19, 2026. It ran in Seongsu-dong from June 19 to July 18, 2026 as part of the ‘Drawing Hope’ campaign with Kian84, with customer-participation content on the first and second floors and three Kian84-designed NH NongHyup cards on display. The third-floor Dream Cafe was available to people who had joined a pre-event or met on-site conditions, and proceeds from the cafe and goods were planned for donation to student library creation.6

What to Check Before Joining an On-Site Line

The most important checks are simple but easy to miss when a queue is moving. First, confirm whether the popup requires QR registration, a waiting number, or both. Second, ask whether the displayed wait time is an estimate or a call-back sequence. Third, check whether merchandise or experience slots can sell out while people are still waiting.

Consumer-rights information deserves the same attention as the queue. Seoul’s investigation found insufficient guidance around personal information consent and exchange or refund rules among operators that were asked to improve procedures.1 If a popup asks for a phone number, QR registration, or other personal data for entry calls or event participation, visitors should look for a clear explanation of what is being collected and why.

Refund and exchange terms also matter because popups often combine limited goods, event-only purchases, and fast-moving crowds. The available sources do not provide a single refund policy for Seongsu popups, so the safest visitor habit is to check the posted exchange and refund notice before payment, especially for cosmetics, food, custom goods, or limited merchandise.

G-Dragon is serving as promotional ambassador for the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in Busan, where he is tied to opening ceremony remarks, public participation campaigns and K-Heritage programming at BEXCO.

G-Dragon is taking on a public-facing role at the opening of the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Busan, with reports saying he is scheduled to speak at the ceremony on World Heritage protection and civic participation. The Korea Heritage Service appointed him as promotional ambassador on July 3, ahead of the session running from July 19 to 29, marking the first time South Korea has hosted the committee meeting. 1

The appointment places the artist, also known as Kwon Ji-yong, at the center of a cultural diplomacy push around World Heritage conservation, Korean heritage promotion and a related citizen campaign led through the JusPeace Foundation.

G-Dragon at the UNESCO Busan Opening Ceremony

KNN reported that G-Dragon, as ambassador for the Busan session, was scheduled to stand at the opening ceremony podium and prepare remarks on the need to protect World Heritage while encouraging participation from citizens. The broadcaster also described the World Heritage Committee as UNESCO’s top decision-making body for World Heritage inscription and conservation, and identified Busan as South Korea’s first host city for the session. 2

The Korea Heritage Service’s official July 3 announcement said G-Dragon would take part in campaign videos and on-site events designed to broaden public participation in the protection of World Heritage. 3 Newsis reported the same day that his appointment came before the July 19 opening of the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Busan and that campaign appearances and field events were part of the role. 4

A statement attributed to G-Dragon’s side framed the message in civic terms: “World Heritage is a shared asset that all humanity must protect together.” 4 A Korea Heritage Service official also said the agency expected domestic and international attention and citizen participation in the World Heritage Committee to expand. 4

The Korea Herald reported on July 19 that G-Dragon is serving as honorary ambassador for the session, placing the role within South Korea’s effort to bring wider global attention to Korean heritage during the committee’s first meeting in the country. 1 In that context, the phrase G-Dragon UNESCO Ambassador refers not to a general UNESCO title, but to his promotional ambassador role for the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in Busan.

The Korea Heritage Service said the K-Heritage House would operate at BEXCO’s first exhibition hall from July 20 to 29 during the committee session. The venue is planned to present Korean national heritage, traditional culture, food and performing arts, with a JusPeace Foundation booth identified as one of the featured spaces. 5

That booth is tied to G-Dragon through his role as the session’s ambassador and as honorary chair of the JusPeace Foundation. The official K-Heritage House update positions the foundation presence as part of the broader program surrounding the World Heritage Committee meeting, rather than as a standalone entertainment event. 5

Heritage in Peace Campaign

The JusPeace Foundation is also connected to the ‘Heritage in Peace’ campaign, which is being presented alongside the Busan World Heritage Committee session. The Korea Heritage Service linked G-Dragon’s appointment with the foundation’s planned campaign in cooperation with UNESCO, while Newsis reported that the campaign would begin on July 10. 3 4

Newsis reported that donations raised through the campaign would go to the UNESCO World Heritage Fund for protection efforts related to war, climate crisis and natural disasters. 4 Maeil Business Newspaper also reported that the foundation would join the global citizen campaign, noting that it had signed an agreement with the National Heritage Administration in April and, from July, worked with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre to raise World Heritage Fund donations. 6

Choi Yong-ho, chairman of the JusPeace Foundation, described the campaign’s purpose in broader preservation terms, saying, “Protecting the World Heritage Site goes beyond preserving the past.” 6 Maeil Business also reported that G-Dragon planned to attend the opening ceremony to urge public interest and participation in World Heritage preservation. 6

A friendly guide to Golmak Sikdang Jeju for breakfast, including opening hours, signature meat noodles, location, parking notes, and why the restaurant is known for Jeju-style gogi guksu.

Golmak Sikdang breakfast is all about starting the day with a bowl of Jeju-style gogi guksu, or meat noodles, in Jeju City. If you are looking up Golmak Sikdang Jeju because you want a practical morning meal, the key detail is simple: multiple sources list the restaurant as opening at 06:30, making it a realistic early breakfast stop before a day of sightseeing or travel.123

The restaurant is known as a Korean restaurant near Jeju Dongbu Police Station where visitors can eat Jeju-style meat noodles, and its address is listed as 12 Cheonsu-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.4 The official Instagram profile also identifies Golmak Sikdang as a Jeju gogi guksu specialist and gives the same Cheonsu-ro address, which helps confirm the basic location details travelers need before heading out in the morning.3

Why Golmak Sikdang Works for Breakfast

Breakfast in Jeju can mean many things, but Golmak Sikdang fits a very specific kind of morning: warm, filling, and local. Travie Magazine’s Brunch article included the restaurant among Jeju breakfast options and described gogi guksu as a Jeju dish that can be eaten relatively comfortably in the morning.2 That makes the restaurant especially relevant for travelers who want something more rooted in local food culture than a cafe breakfast, while still keeping the meal straightforward.

The hours are the practical reason it appears in breakfast searches. A Jeju Special Self-Governing Province item republished by WelfareHello lists Golmak Sikdang’s business hours as 06:30 to 18:00, with last order at 17:30.1 The restaurant’s official Instagram profile lists hours as 06:30 to 17:30 and notes that it may close early if ingredients sell out.3 Because the listed closing information differs slightly between sources, the most reliable breakfast takeaway is the shared opening time: 06:30. For later meals, it is wise to pay attention to the official note about possible early closure when ingredients run out.3

That early start is useful if your Jeju itinerary begins with a drive, a ferry or airport schedule, or sightseeing that works best before crowds build. The available sources do not provide reservation rules, wait times, or day-by-day closing notices, so the safest source-backed guidance is to treat it as an early-opening restaurant and check current official updates if your schedule depends on a precise closing time.

What to Know About the Bowl

Golmak Sikdang’s central dish is gogi guksu, a Jeju-style meat noodle soup. Visit Jeju, operated by the Jeju Tourism Organization, describes the restaurant’s noodles as featuring pork bone broth and anchovy broth, thick noodles, and pork suyuk placed on top.4 The WelfareHello article also highlights thick noodles and pork shoulder meat, along with kimchi, as part of the restaurant’s character.1

That combination explains why the restaurant makes sense for breakfast even if a bowl of noodles sounds hearty. The dish is built around broth, noodles, and pork rather than a complicated multi-course spread. For many travelers, that can be a comfortable middle ground: more substantial than a quick snack, but still focused and easy to understand.

The menu information available in the provided sources centers on gogi guksu, bibim guksu, and suyuk.1 In practical terms, gogi guksu is the clear anchor if your goal is a classic Golmak Sikdang breakfast. Bibim guksu, a mixed noodle dish, and suyuk, boiled pork slices, broaden the meal if you are eating with others or arriving with a bigger appetite, but the source-backed identity of the restaurant is strongest around Jeju meat noodles.

Golmak Sikdang’s reputation is not only about convenience. The WelfareHello article says the restaurant was designated a Jeju local food restaurant in 2023 for gogi guksu.1 Visit Jeju also notes that it had been selected for 2016 KOREAT TOP10, while a Jeju Ilbo article from December 24, 2008 included Golmak Sikdang in a list connected to the Blue Ribbon Survey’s 2009 southern-region restaurant guide.45 These details come from different contexts and different years, but together they show that the restaurant has been recognized beyond casual word of mouth.

Location, Parking, and Morning Planning

Golmak Sikdang is listed at 12 Cheonsu-ro in Jeju City, and both Visit Jeju and the official Instagram profile provide the contact number 064-753-6949 or the same address details.43 Visit Jeju places it near Jeju Dongbu Police Station, which is a helpful landmark if you are navigating around the city rather than heading to a rural destination.4

For drivers, the official Instagram profile gives a useful parking note: parking is indicated next to the building and by the villa across the street.3 The source material does not specify the number of spaces, parking fees, or whether parking availability changes by time of day, so it is best to treat that as basic orientation rather than a guaranteed parking plan.

One small point to keep in mind is the restaurant’s long-running identity. The official Instagram profile says Golmak Sikdang opened in 1989.3 Travie Magazine’s Brunch article describes it as a 60-year tradition restaurant recognized by locals.2 The sources use different ways of framing its history, so the safest reading is that Golmak Sikdang is presented consistently as a long-established local gogi guksu restaurant, even if the exact wording differs by source.

For a morning meal in Jeju City, Golmak Sikdang is a clear fit when you want a local breakfast built around gogi guksu rather than a generic travel stop. Its 06:30 opening time, Cheonsu-ro location, and focus on thick noodles, pork broth, and pork suyuk make Golmak Sikdang Jeju a practical breakfast choice for travelers who want something warm, simple, and strongly tied to Jeju’s noodle culture.

A practical guide to Country GongBang X Jung Yun-hyeong’s <Nol:um>, the Yeowoorak Festival 2026 concert connecting pansori and American bluegrass at Daloreum Theater.

Country GongBang X Jung Yun-hyeong’s <Nol:um> is the key pansori-bluegrass crossover to know within Yeowoorak Festival 2026. The 70-minute concert takes place on July 18, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Daloreum Theater, bringing together bluegrass band Country GongBang and pansori singer Jung Yun-hyeong for a program built around rhythm, breath, improvisation, and storytelling.1

For readers deciding what this performance is, where it fits in the festival, and what kind of music to expect, the short answer is straightforward: <Nol:um> is not a conventional pansori recital and not a standard bluegrass set. It is a collaboration designed to test how Korean narrative vocal music and American acoustic string-band language can meet on stage.2

What <Nol:um> Is Within Yeowoorak Festival 2026

Yeowoorak Festival 2026 runs from July 3 to July 25, 2026, at the National Theater of Korea’s Haneul Theater and Daloreum Theater. The festival consists of 12 performances, with Lee Han-chul as artistic director and Yu Tae-pyung-yang as music director.2 Within that larger frame, <Nol:um> is one of the clearest examples of the festival’s focus on collaboration across genre lines.

The National Theater of Korea describes the Country GongBang X Jung Yun-hyeong performance as a meeting between American bluegrass and pansori. The performance is organized around shared musical qualities: improvisation, breath, and story.1 Those words matter because they explain why this pairing is more than a novelty. Pansori depends on vocal narrative, rhythmic drive, dramatic pacing, and a live exchange of energy. Bluegrass, especially in ensemble performance, also relies on tightly coordinated rhythm, responsive phrasing, and instrumental conversation.

Jung Yun-hyeong’s own explanation points in the same direction. Speaking about the collaboration, Jung said, “Pansori and country music unexpectedly have a lot of unity in rhythmic feel.”3 That comment gives listeners a useful lens: the concert is less about placing two genres side by side and more about finding common movement inside them.

The broader festival programming also supports that reading. Reports on the 2026 edition describe Yeowoorak as expanding the boundaries of traditional music through meetings with popular and contemporary genres, including rock and pansori, blues and Korean traditional music, and street dance with Korean traditional music.4 In that setting, the pansori-bluegrass pairing is part of a wider festival argument: Korean traditional music can be approached through contact, contrast, and experiment.

Date, Venue, Running Time, and Program Notes

The practical details are simple but important. <Nol:um> is scheduled for July 18, 2026, at 3 p.m. in Daloreum Theater. The listed running time is 70 minutes.1 The performance appears in the latter part of Yeowoorak Festival 2026, which continues through July 25 at the National Theater of Korea’s Haneul Theater and Daloreum Theater.5

The announced program gives a clearer idea of the musical route. It includes the danga “Jingukmyeongsan,” a combination of the Namdo folk song “Deulgukhwa” with “Wildwood Flower,” and selections or references connected to “Jeokbyeokga,” “Sangyeosori,” and “Sugungga.”1 These titles suggest that the concert does not treat pansori as a single sound or one fixed mood. Instead, it draws from short-form vocal tradition, folk material, major pansori repertoire, and work-song or ritual-adjacent sound worlds.

The pairing of “Deulgukhwa” and “Wildwood Flower” is especially useful for understanding the concert’s method. “Wildwood Flower” is named in the official program alongside a Namdo folk song, making that section a concrete point where Korean folk melody and an American bluegrass-associated song title are placed in direct relation.1 For listeners, that means the crossover is likely to be heard through recognizable musical materials rather than only through abstract genre labels.

There is also a festival-level reason this performance may be easier to enter than some readers expect. The 2026 edition has been described as adding popular accessibility to collaboration and experimentation, with lineups involving popular artists and traditional-based artists.6 Music director Yu Tae-pyung-yang framed the intention behind such programming by saying, “Our intention was to make people feel that these are unexpected combinations.”6 That is a useful expectation to carry into <Nol:um>: surprise is part of the design.

How to Approach the Performance as a Listener

If you are attending or following this performance, listen first for pulse and exchange rather than for genre purity. The official description emphasizes the common ground between bluegrass and pansori: improvisation, breath, and story.1 That means the most important moments may come in how the voice and instruments respond to each other, how rhythmic tension is built, and how narrative momentum is carried across different musical languages.

It is also worth entering with the festival’s larger public-facing idea in mind. Newsis reported that the 2026 festival presented the idea of “our music that anyone can enjoy,” and noted Lee Han-chul’s role as Yeowoorak’s first popular-music artistic director, with Yu Tae-pyung-yang serving as music director.3 Seoul Shinmun also reported Yu’s statement: “We will show that our music is closer than you might think.”5 For <Nol:um>, that closeness is likely expressed through rhythm, direct storytelling, and the familiar energy of acoustic ensemble performance.

Readers looking for ticketing or attendance details should rely on the National Theater of Korea performance page for the official schedule and venue information. The available source material confirms the date, time, venue, running time, artists, and program outline, but does not provide ticket price, seating category, refund policy, or availability status.1

Coffee Hanyakbang Cheongnyangni was announced for 38 Wangsan-ro 35-gil, with a phased soft-opening plan near Gyeongdong Market and Cheongnyangni Station.

Coffee Hanyakbang Cheongnyangni has become a notable name to watch around Gyeongdong Market, especially for readers following Seoul’s cafe culture. The official Coffee Hanyakbang Instagram announced the new Cheongnyangni address as 38 Wangsan-ro 35-gil, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, and said the space was planned for a soft opening in the second week of July 2026.1

Because that announced window has already passed by the article date of July 18, 2026, the most careful way to read the available information is this: Coffee Hanyakbang had publicly prepared a Cheongnyangni opening for that period, but anyone planning a visit should check the brand’s current official channels before going. In English search terms, some readers may think of this as Gyeongdong Herbal Coffee, but the source-backed story is specifically about Coffee Hanyakbang’s Cheongnyangni space.

Coffee Hanyakbang Cheongnyangni: The Confirmed Details

The core facts are clear. Coffee Hanyakbang’s new Cheongnyangni location was listed at 38 Wangsan-ro 35-gil in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. The official July 3, 2026 notice said the Cheongnyangni Coffee Hanyakbang space was planned to begin with a soft opening in the second week of July 2026. It also explained that the building has three floors, with the first and second floors set to operate first and the third floor to open later.1

A Dongdaemun local guide account shared a matching update on July 4, 2026, describing the Coffee Hanyakbang Gyeongdong Market branch as a three-story building. That post also said the first and second floors were expected to open ahead of the third and introduced the address as being within walking distance of Cheongnyangni Station.2

That phased plan is one of the most useful details for would-be visitors. The available source material does not give a confirmed opening date for the third floor. It also does not provide a detailed menu for the Cheongnyangni branch, seating count, reservation policy, or full operating hours for the new space. So the most responsible summary is that the Cheongnyangni branch was announced as a multi-floor space beginning in stages, with the first two floors prioritized.

The official July notice also clarified that Euljiro Coffee Hanyakbang would continue operating.1 That matters because it frames Cheongnyangni as a new branch or new space in the brand’s story, not as a simple closure-and-replacement of the Euljiro shop.

Why the Gyeongdong Market Area Matters

The Cheongnyangni and Gyeongdong Market area is part of the reason this opening has drawn attention. TENANT news reported on May 11, 2026 that the Cheongnyangni and Gyeongdong Market district has been shifting from a place known mainly for transfers into a destination-style commercial area, with more experience-oriented consumer spaces added onto its traditional market base.3

That description gives useful context without needing to overstate the case. Coffee Hanyakbang is entering a neighborhood already being discussed as a changing food, beverage, and lifestyle district. The same TENANT news report mentioned Starbucks Gyeongdong 1960, Cafe Cheongnyang, and Pescaderia as examples of food and beverage names gathering in the area, and it also cited news of Euljiro landmark Coffee Hanyakbang’s opening as part of the broader Cheongnyangni commercial shift.3

For readers planning a Seoul itinerary, this context helps place the branch geographically and culturally. Cheongnyangni is not being presented only as a station area in these sources. It is also being described as a neighborhood where traditional market identity and newer cafe culture sit close together. A Coffee Hanyakbang location near Gyeongdong Market fits that pattern because the brand already carries a strong place-based identity from its Euljiro background.

The practical appeal is also straightforward. The local guide source described the branch as being within walking distance of Cheongnyangni Station.2 That does not replace a map check, but it does tell readers that the announced location belongs to the station-and-market zone rather than a distant part of Dongdaemun-gu.

The Euljiro Roots Behind Coffee Hanyakbang

Coffee Hanyakbang’s Cheongnyangni interest is easier to understand when you know the brand’s origin story. A 2022 article from KDI Economic Information and Education Center’s Nara Economy introduced Coffee Hanyakbang and Hyemindang as representative spaces in an Euljiro alley. The article identified actor Kang Yoon-seok as the owner of Coffee Hanyakbang and described how he paid attention to Euljiro’s history and alley culture when opening the coffee shop.4

That background is important because Coffee Hanyakbang is not presented in the available sources as a generic chain moving into a popular district. Its identity has been tied to old Seoul streets, compact urban texture, and the atmosphere of Euljiro. Cheongnyangni, with Gyeongdong Market nearby, gives the brand another neighborhood where history and everyday commerce are already part of the setting.

The official Coffee Hanyakbang with Hyemindang website describes the brand around coffee along with cakes and bakery items baked daily. The site also lists the operating company as Coffee Sugongup LAB&ROASTER, names Kang Yoon-seok as representative, and links to the official Instagram accounts @coffee_hanyakbang and @hyemindang_.5

There is another piece of timeline context. On March 29, 2026, Coffee Hanyakbang’s official Instagram announced the end of operations for the Hyemindang building across the street, while related profile and post information pointed to 38 Wangsan-ro 35-gil as the planned Cheongnyangni Coffee Hanyakbang soft-opening site.6 The source material does not frame that as a complete brand relocation, and the July notice later stated that the Euljiro Coffee Hanyakbang would continue operating.1

For now, Coffee Hanyakbang Cheongnyangni is best understood through the confirmed basics: an announced address at 38 Wangsan-ro 35-gil, a three-floor space planned to open in phases, an initial first-and-second-floor operation plan, and a place in the wider Cheongnyangni and Gyeongdong Market shift. If you are planning around the branch after July 18, 2026, the most practical next step is to verify the current operating status through Coffee Hanyakbang’s official channels before making the trip.

An evidence-led analysis of the BTS Gwanghwamun Reaction on Japanese SNS, from X post data to public-space debate, tourism signaling, and K-pop industry strategy.

The BTS Gwanghwamun concert drew unusually strong attention on Japanese SNS because it was read as more than a comeback stage. The BTS Gwanghwamun Reaction centered on how Seoul placed a global K-pop act in a symbolic public square, supported the event with city-level logistics, and turned a music release into a broader national-branding moment.

Japanese SNS Reaction to the BTS Gwanghwamun Concert

The clearest measure of Japanese interest comes from X. An analysis of 1,527 non-Korean X posts published from March 18 to 24 found that Japanese-language posts numbered 355, second only to English among the nine languages studied.1 A separate Korean report on the same analysis also stated that Japanese posts ranked second after English, and noted that Japanese users focused not only on fandom excitement but also on the use of public resources and the meaning of Gwanghwamun as a venue.2

That distinction matters. The reaction was not simply “BTS is popular in Japan,” although the group’s Japanese fanbase is plainly part of the story. The available reports suggest that Japanese SNS users treated the concert as a case study in how cultural policy, urban space, and entertainment strategy can work together. The event’s location made that interpretation difficult to avoid: Gwanghwamun Square sits in central Seoul, near major heritage and tourism landmarks, and the stage was framed by Japanese media as a way to introduce K-pop to the world from the heart of the city.3

Why Public Space Became the Core Issue

The Japanese SNS response appears to have been sharpened by the question of public-space use. Gwanghwamun is not a neutral concert hall; it is one of Seoul’s most visible civic spaces. Holding a free BTS comeback event there naturally turned the performance into a statement about how South Korea uses public infrastructure to amplify cultural content.

Seoul Metropolitan Government’s preparations reinforced that reading. Ahead of the March 21 concert, the city opened an online transport and safety information page covering subway pass-through plans, temporary bus detours, vehicle control zones, banned items, toilets, and medical stations. The city also provided the information in English, Chinese, and Japanese for overseas visitors.6 This was not just a venue rental story. It involved crowd management, multilingual visitor services, mobility planning, and safety communications.

For Japanese observers, that combination seems to have made the concert stand out as a visible example of state, city, and private entertainment coordination. The Korea Times quoted Lee Chang-min as saying, “In Japan, K-pop is classified not simply as entertainment to consume but as a successful example of content industry policy.”1 That comment helps explain why Japanese-language discussion would move beyond the performance itself. If K-pop is viewed as a policy model, then the Gwanghwamun concert becomes evidence in a larger comparison about how nations invest in cultural export systems.

The language data also supports the idea that the event was interpreted symbolically. Hankook Ilbo cited Arspraksia researcher Hong Min-jung as saying that, among non-Korean posts, the English keyword “historical” appeared repeatedly.2 While that does not prove a single global consensus, it does show that at least part of the international conversation treated the event as historically framed, not merely as a routine comeback promotion.

Tourism, Media Optics, and National Branding

Japanese media coverage added another layer. TV Chosun reported that Nihon Keizai Shimbun noted all BTS members had appeared on stage together for the first time in three years and five months, while Kyodo News introduced the venue as a tourist area where cultural properties such as Gyeongbokgung are gathered.3 That framing connected the concert to place branding: the performance promoted not only an album, but also Seoul as a cultural destination.

The Guardian reported that tens of thousands gathered at Gwanghwamun Square for BTS’s comeback concert after nearly four years as a full group. It also noted that about 22,000 people had free seats in the designated viewing zone, while many more watched nearby screens, and that Netflix streamed the show to more than 190 countries.5 The report included Japanese fans who traveled from Shizuoka to Seoul, a concrete example of the event’s cross-border pull.5

These details point to why the Japanese SNS conversation became so active. The concert combined scarcity, symbolism, and access: BTS returning as a full group after a long interval; a free public-stage format in central Seoul; global streaming through Netflix; and city-managed visitor infrastructure. Each element amplified the others. A comeback stage became a tourism signal, a platform-distribution event, and a public-policy showcase at the same time.

The cautious takeaway is that Japanese SNS users were not reacting only to BTS’s celebrity power. Based on the reported X data and media coverage, the stronger reaction came from seeing how South Korea positioned that celebrity power inside a coordinated public setting. The Gwanghwamun concert showed how K-pop can operate simultaneously as entertainment, urban spectacle, tourism content, and national branding strategy.

A friendly, source-backed guide to Golmak Sikdang’s gogi guksu, the Jeju pork noodle dish known for pork bone broth, thick noodles, and suyuk topping.

Golmak Sikdang gogi guksu is one of the clearest examples of why Jeju Pork Noodles have become such a comforting part of the island’s food culture. The restaurant, listed at 12 Cheonsu-ro in Jeju City, is repeatedly described in tourism and public records as a place centered on gogi guksu, with pork broth, thick noodles, and pork suyuk as defining elements. 1

If you are trying to understand this dish before planning a meal in Jeju, Golmak Sikdang offers a useful starting point. The available sources do not frame it as a flashy modern noodle shop. Instead, they present it as a rooted local restaurant connected to Jeju’s regional food identity, including official recognition as a local-food restaurant for gogi guksu in 2023. 2

What Makes Golmak Sikdang Gogi Guksu Distinct

At its simplest, gogi guksu is a bowl of noodles served with pork-based broth and slices of pork. At Golmak Sikdang, the details are what make the bowl stand out. VisitJEJU, the official tourism information portal operated by the Jeju Tourism Organization, describes the restaurant’s gogi guksu as featuring broth made from pork leg bones and anchovies, plump noodles, and pork suyuk garnish. 1

That combination matters because Jeju gogi guksu can easily be misunderstood as just “pork noodle soup.” The sources point to something more specific: a hearty broth, substantial noodles, and a topping style that keeps pork at the center of the bowl. A 2022 article by the Consulate-General of Japan in Jeju also described Golmak Sikdang as a gogi guksu specialist in Jeju City’s old downtown, noting pork bone soup, thick and chewy noodles, and generous suyuk topping. 3

The restaurant’s menu is described as focused rather than sprawling. Source material names gogi guksu, bibim guksu, and suyuk among its representative dishes, while another source emphasizes a menu built around gogi guksu and suyuk. 2 For a reader, that is a useful clue: Golmak Sikdang is not presented as a general-purpose restaurant where pork noodles are just one option among many. Its identity is closely tied to this Jeju noodle tradition.

There is also attention to the supporting flavors. Jeju-related content mentions thick noodles, pork foreleg meat, and kimchi as characteristics of the restaurant’s food. 2 The 2022 consular article adds that the meal is served with long-aged fish-sauce kimchi, a detail that helps explain how the richness of the pork broth may be balanced at the table. 3

A Bowl With Deeper Jeju Food Context

Part of the appeal of Golmak Sikdang’s gogi guksu is that it sits inside a broader Jeju story. The Hankyoreh, in a 2018 article on the background of Jeju pork noodles, wrote that gogi guksu spread through a combination of Jeju’s traditional wedding culture, where pork broth had a role, and increased noodle consumption after the Japanese colonial period. 4

That background gives the dish a different meaning from a quick tourist snack. Gogi guksu is connected to pork, broth, noodles, and communal food customs in Jeju. Golmak Sikdang is named in that same article as one of the representative local-style gogi guksu specialists, and the article notes that the restaurant is known for helping popularize bone broth and for using thick noodles. 4

The repeated mention of thick noodles across sources is worth noticing. Thin noodles can disappear into a strong broth, but thick noodles give the bowl a more filling, chewy character. The sources do not provide a recipe or precise preparation method, so it is best not to overstate technique. What they do consistently support is the image of a substantial bowl: pork bone broth, thick or plump noodles, and pork suyuk as a prominent topping.

Golmak Sikdang has also appeared in wider popular food media. SportsQ reported on December 19, 2015, that the restaurant was featured on SBS’s “Baek Jong-won’s Top 3 Chef King,” where Baek Jong-won tasted its gogi guksu. 5 In the reported broadcast scene, he commented that the broth made him think of soju and said it was “really rich.” 5

That quote should be read as a broadcast reaction, not as a technical evaluation. Still, it lines up with the broader source pattern: Golmak Sikdang’s bowl is repeatedly described through its broth, pork, and satisfying weight.

Practical Details for Readers

The practical information available across official and public sources is fairly consistent. Golmak Sikdang is listed at 12 Cheonsu-ro, Idoi-dong, Jeju City, and public data also records the representative food as gogi guksu with the phone number 064-753-6949. 6 VisitJEJU lists the same phone number and notes a last order time of 17:30. 1

Jeju-related content gives the operating hours as 06:30 to 18:00, with last order at 17:30. 2 Since restaurant hours can change, the strongest source-backed way to read this is that these are the hours provided in the available source material, not a guarantee for every future date.

Another useful detail is official recognition. Jeju-related content introduces Golmak Sikdang as a 2023 designated local-food restaurant for gogi guksu, while the Public Data Portal’s Jeju local-food restaurant designation data, dated December 31, 2024, includes Golmak Sikdang at 12 Cheonsu-ro with gogi guksu as its representative dish. 6 VisitJEJU also displays a 2016 KOREAT TOP10 selection history for the restaurant. 1

For anyone building a Jeju food itinerary around classic, source-backed dishes, Golmak Sikdang’s gogi guksu is easy to understand: it is a pork noodle bowl associated with Jeju’s local food culture, known in the available sources for pork bone broth, thick noodles, and suyuk topping. Its appeal is not complicated, and that may be the point: a warm bowl, a focused menu, and a long-standing place in the conversation around Jeju Pork Noodles.

A practical English guide to KBF Beauty House at HiKR Ground, including dates, location, experience zones, participating brands, closure dates, and related Korea Beauty Festival programs.

KBF Beauty House is the hands-on beauty experience space connected to the 2026 Korea Beauty Festival, with its main run scheduled through July 19, 2026. For visitors planning a last-minute stop, the key point is simple: the official VisitKorea listing places KBF Beauty House at HiKR Ground’s outdoor plaza and 4th and 5th floors from June 24 to July 19, while the wider festival continues until September 30, 2026. 1

The program is designed around K-beauty, wellness, lifestyle experiences, and popup events rather than a single exhibition format. That makes it most useful for visitors who want to compare beauty services, try guided experiences, or connect the visit with other festival-linked travel products.

KBF Beauty House Dates, Venue, and Visit Basics

KBF Beauty House is located at HiKR Ground in Jung-gu, Seoul. The official festival overview lists the venue as the outdoor plaza plus the 4th and 5th floors, with the overall Beauty House period running from June 24 to July 19, 2026. 1 Separate coverage of the second popup identifies the 4th floor of HiKR Ground as the operating location for the expanded second phase, also running until July 19. 2

Because July 18, 2026 is one day before the listed end date, readers should treat July 19, 2026 as the final date supported by the available source material. The reports also state that the second popup was closed on July 6 and July 13, both of which have already passed. 3 No additional closure date after July 18 is provided in the supplied sources.

The broader 2026 Korea Beauty Festival began with an opening ceremony on June 24 at the 5th floor of HiKR Ground, where the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization presented the festival as a program to attract international visitors through K-beauty content. 4 The festival itself is scheduled through September 30, but KBF Beauty House has a shorter window, so it should be planned separately from the longer festival period. 1

What the Second Popup Adds

The second KBF Beauty House popup expanded on the first popup, which ran from June 25 to 28, by adding more participating brands and experience content. 2 The newly added experience areas include skincare, eyelashes, wigs, makeup, auricular therapy, whitening, personal color, sock making, and gua sha massage, with nine companies newly joining the program. 2

For a practical visit, this means the second popup is not just a viewing space. It is framed as an experience-centered area for international tourists interested in K-beauty content. News1 described it as a dedicated experiential space introducing K-beauty content to foreign visitors, and reported that the expanded operation runs until July 19. 3

Asia Economy listed the newly participating brands as Skin Is Good, Chat Beauty-Gakkum, Nemo Lash, Aesmin, Helen Beauty, Sihwan Global, Meview, Diva Skin, Image Color House, Mutcat, and Bellustone. The same report also said several brands from the first popup continued operating: Dr. Han Ji-hyun K-Beauty Care Center, Biol-Heum Makeup, Eclat Harmo, Eyedrink Milano, and Yeol Beauty. 5

The activities point to a broad definition of beauty tourism. Some experiences are service-oriented, such as lash, makeup, skincare, whitening, gua sha massage, and personal color. Others, such as sock making, sit closer to lifestyle and visitor participation. The supplied sources do not provide booking steps, prices, time slots, or capacity rules, so visitors should rely on the confirmed venue and period rather than assuming walk-in availability for every program.

How It Fits Into the Wider Korea Beauty Festival

KBF Beauty House is one part of a longer festival built around beauty, wellness, lifestyle, travel products, and popup programming. VisitKorea presents the 2026 Korea Beauty Festival as a global beauty tourism festival running from June 24 to September 30, 2026. 1 StarNews reported that the opening event gathered makeup, hair, fashion, and wellness content in one place, alongside business consultations, popup zones, and a special promotion through global travel platforms. 4

The international visitor focus is repeated across the coverage. News1 reported that a K-beauty tourism product special exhibition through nine global travel platforms continues until September 30, 2026. 3 That is important for readers who cannot visit KBF Beauty House before July 19: the Beauty House popup is ending earlier, but some festival-linked travel product activity is described as continuing through the end of September.

The festival also used public-facing promotion around actress Hyeri. StarNews reported that she was appointed as a KBF promotional model, and the official VISITKOREA YouTube channel posted a 2026 Korea Beauty Festival promotional video describing a K-beauty journey with Hyeri. 4 6 Since official video embedding is not part of this article format, the most practical takeaway is that the campaign is tied to VisitKorea’s official festival promotion rather than only private brand activity.

Festival officials framed the event as part of a broader tourism push. Korea Tourism Organization president Park Sung-hyuk said Korea has already emerged as a “Glowcation” destination, using a term that connects beauty and travel. 4 Han Yeo-ok, head of the Korea Tourism Organization’s International Tourism Content Office, also said the organization would work on product development and expanding purchase channels. 3 These remarks match the structure of the event: an on-site beauty popup at HiKR Ground, plus travel-product channels that continue after the Beauty House period ends.

When does KBF Beauty House end?

The available sources list KBF Beauty House as running through July 19, 2026, at HiKR Ground in Seoul. The wider 2026 Korea Beauty Festival continues until September 30, 2026, so do not confuse the Beauty House end date with the full festival end date. 1

The second popup expanded the first phase with more brands and hands-on content, including skincare, lashes, wigs, makeup, auricular therapy, whitening, personal color, sock making, and gua sha massage. The sources do not provide confirmed pricing, booking procedures, or session-by-session schedules. 2 !Korea Beauty Festival KBF Beauty House Seoul venue guide KBF Beauty House is best understood as the short-window, experience-heavy part of the Korea Beauty Festival: useful for visitors who want to sample K-beauty and wellness content at HiKR Ground before July 19, while broader festival-linked promotions continue beyond the popup period. For anyone planning around the supplied information, the safest next step is to prioritize the HiKR Ground visit by July 19, 2026, and treat other festival travel-product promotions as a separate September 30 timeline.

Explore the source-backed history of Sindang-dong Tteokbokki, from Mabokrim Tteokbokki’s 1953 origin story to the alley’s 1980s peak and its newer Hipdang-dong chapter.

The history of Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Town is really a story about how one Seoul neighborhood kept changing while holding onto a flavor that people recognized. From its postwar commercial roots to its 1980s peak and its more recent place inside the broader “Hipdang-dong” conversation, Sindang-dong Tteokbokki has become more than a simple snack street.

The History Behind Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Town

Sindang-dong’s food alley did not appear in isolation. Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on July 7, 2026, that the Seoul Museum of History had published the 2025 Seoul Living Culture Research Report, 『Sindang-dong: 神·新·Hip』, a report that reads the neighborhood through three layers: a space of shamanic belief, a modern and contemporary residential and commercial district, and a youth-culture commercial area now associated with “Hipdang-dong.”1

That wider frame matters because Tteokbokki Town is one part of a neighborhood that has repeatedly reinvented itself. Yonhap News summarized the report by noting that Sindang-dong carries a name connected to old shrines, or sindang, and that after Korea’s liberation, merchants shaped a series of specialized streets, including Tteokbokki Street, Rice Street, Gaemi Alley, and Ironworks Street.2 B tv news also described the report’s arc: an area outside Gwanghuimun associated with shamanic belief became a modern residential and commercial district, then later drew attention as “Hipdang-dong.”3

Seen this way, Tteokbokki Town is not just a place where spicy rice cakes are sold. It is one of the clearest food-centered examples of how local commerce, everyday life, and urban memory overlapped in Sindang-dong. Choi Byeong-gu, director of the Seoul Museum of History, described Sindang-dong as “a vast museum” compressing Seoul’s dramatic urban transformation into a single neighborhood.1 That short description fits the tteokbokki alley especially well: it carries food history, commercial history, and neighborhood branding all at once.

From Mabokrim’s 1953 Story to the 1980s Boom

The historical anchor most often attached to Sindang-dong Tteokbokki is Mabokrim Tteokbokki. The Korea Tourism Organization’s Visit Korea guide presents Mabokrim Halmeoni’s House and its 1953 beginning story as part of the background of the area, while describing Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Town as a food street lined on both sides with tteokbokki restaurants.4

That 1953 point is also central to how the area is remembered in later reporting. The Korea Economic Daily described Mabokrim Tteokbokki, which opened in 1953, as a leading name in the popularization of instant tteokbokki in Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Town.5 The phrase “instant tteokbokki” is important for readers who may only know tteokbokki as a street snack. In Sindang-dong, the dish became closely associated with a table-cooked style, shared in a pan and eaten as a casual social meal.

According to the Visit Korea guide, the alley itself took shape in the late 1970s and reached a heyday in the 1980s alongside DJ booth culture.4 That detail gives the town’s history a very specific mood. The area was not simply a row of restaurants; it was remembered as a youthful, social, sound-filled destination where food and pop culture met in an easygoing way.

For many readers, that may explain why the name still has such staying power. Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Town is not only known because tteokbokki is popular across Korea. It is known because this neighborhood helped make a particular way of eating it feel iconic: gathered around a pan, adding ingredients, talking across the table, and treating the meal as an outing rather than a quick bite.

Decline, Renewal, and the Hipdang-dong Era

The more recent history is less nostalgic, and that makes it useful. By 2023, local officials and media were discussing how to revive the old tteokbokki alley’s visibility. Jung District Office announced a food festival for May 19, 2023, in the Sindang-dong Tteokbokki and Food Alley, where it planned to unveil a new brand and character.6 The district also said it had pursued commercial-area revitalization since the alley was designated as an alley-type shopping district in 2021, including improvements to the street environment, guide signboards, promotional banners, and character development.6

The need for revitalization becomes clearer when you look at the numbers reported that same year. The Korea Economic Daily cited Seoul commercial district analysis service data showing that snack-restaurant transaction counts in the relevant alley-type shopping area fell from 97,391 in the fourth quarter of 2017 to 79,408 in the fourth quarter of 2022.5 In the same report, Kim Dong-hwan, an operations manager at Mabokrim Tteokbokki, said the store’s sales had dropped to about two-thirds of the previous year’s level.5

This does not erase the town’s legacy. Instead, it shows how a famous food street has had to compete with newer patterns of attention. As “Hipdang-dong” became a label for youth-oriented shops and new commercial energy in the surrounding area, the older tteokbokki alley faced the challenge of remaining visible inside a changing neighborhood.

Jung District’s 2023 festival announcement framed that challenge directly as an effort to restore the reputation of the tteokbokki alley. District mayor Kim Gil-sung said the office would seek various ways to revitalize the tteokbokki alley.6 The wording is modest, but the implication is significant: local identity around food still mattered enough to become a public revitalization goal.

The history of Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Town is therefore not a straight line from fame to nostalgia. It begins with the neighborhood’s older layers, moves through post-liberation merchant streets, gains a defining food identity through Mabokrim’s 1953 story, expands into a late-1970s and 1980s youth-food culture, and then enters a newer period of renewal beside Hipdang-dong. Its appeal comes from that layered history: a single alley where Seoul’s everyday food culture, neighborhood commerce, and urban change can still be read together.
